Ashes to Ashes

Today is Ash Wednesday...day of fasting.  As a little Jewish kid in the 60's and 70's, I really didn't know too much about Ash Wednesday.  I just knew that a lot of people I saw had ashes on their foreheads. I also knew that I felt left out, so when I got home from school, I would always go to a dirty ashtray (everybody's parents smoked back then) put my finger in, and smear ashes on my head... Re
