Slipknot have built Knotfest into a name brand festival in recent years, and last year was the first time the group didn't actually play the event but still reaped the rewards of curating one of the top festival bills. This year, they will expand the Knotfest brand, staging the festival this October in Bogota, Colombia for the first time, with Judas Priest set to headline.

The single day festival will take place Oct. 26 at the Hipodromo de los Andes in Bogota. In addition to the firepower of Judas Priest, the metal-centric lineup includes Helloween on their Pumpkins United tour, Kreator, Arch Enemy, Iron Reagan, Goatwhore and plenty more. Slipknot are not expected to play the inaugural event in Bogota. The band has been on a break while Corey Taylor has spent time with Stone Sour in recent years. However, Taylor's transition back to Slipknot is expected to come in 2019. The band has reportedly already started working on new music, with Taylor stating earlier this summer that 16 songs had already been penned. He called the new music "dangerous," adding, "This is Iowa levels of heavy ... I am really, really excited about it, and I talk to the guys in Slipknot all the time. I talk to Clown either every day or every other day. I’ve been talking to Jim, V-man, Jay, Mick, Craig, Chris, Sid. We’re all really, really, really excited about this stuff, and it’s coming together really fucking well. So be prepared for 2019 – which, weirdly, is the 20th anniversary of our first album. Shit’s about to get fucking real again! So take that as you will.”
