Meat at the Movies: The Martian, Sicario
It's not often when both new releases are something to look forward to. With both The Martian and Sicario receiving praise, it'll be hard to choose which one to go see. We should all welcome that dilemma.
Matt Damon stars as a NASA astronaut stranded on the red planet after his fellow crew presumed he was dead. In The Martian, Damon must find a way to stay alive long enough in the harsh conditions on the planet Mars for someone to come and rescue him. The only thing is the next mission would take four years to get there and he is set up in a base that was supposed to last the crew only 31 days. His options run low when his fellow crew decides whether or not embark on a suicide mission to save him. With Ridley Scott as the director the movie is expected to look magnificent and that is exactly what critics are saying. Rotten Tomatoes give this a rating of 91% saying that the best is brought out in Matt Damon and Ridley Scott. This movie is set to be a real hit for audiences.
If you're looking for an action-filled flick about the war on drugs look no further than Sicario. An FBI agent Kate (Emily Blunt) is sent in an elite task force to Mexico to help take down the drug cartel in some not-by-the-book ways that she is uncomfortable with. Benicio Del Toro is set to be their inside man with a dark history of being a hitman. Kate needs to find her balance in the things she must do to battle the cartel and her morals. She needs to push back her breaking point in this life or death situation. With a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 92% critics say that it grabs viewers from the start and doesn't ever let go.
