10 Surprising Things Actually for Sale at NY Adams Stores
Adams Fairacre Farms, where customers come for the produce but stay for the giant penguins and 48,000 jelly beans (that's the official slogan... right?).
There are plenty of reasons that Adams is the favorite store of many Hudson Valley residents, but for me, the reason is variety. Gone are the days of the classic general store, but Adams Fairacre Farms does a fantastic job of keeping the spirit alive by stocking some very strange (and very fun) items for sale in addition to their groceries and garden center.
The Most Surprising Items for Sale at Adams Fairacre Farms
This is the second year I've chronicled my favorite Adams finds, and once again I'm back at my home base: Adams Fairacre Farms in Newburgh, NY. While locations in Poughkeepsie, Wappingers Falls, Kingston, and now Middletown, NY may have their own unique treasures, there are some great finds here in the 'burgh.
Honorable Mentions
First, some honorable mentions, as Adams also has some amenities that might not qualify for the official list. Take this Christmas light checker, for instance (below). Adams is the first store I've seen that encourages customers to check their lights before purchase to guarantee a merry Christmas.
Repeat Nominations
There are also a few repeat nominations. The mind-bending jelly bean display, for instance, is back for a second year in a row, while other items like a literal ice cream shop hidden in a corner (I only just found it this week!) are newcomers to the collection.
From Oreo cookie trains to giant roosters and everything in between (1,000-piece puzzle, anyone?), there's something for everybody at Adams this holiday season. Check out the top ten list below.
