If you have ever played with it then you know the smell of a freshly opened can. The smell that is synonymous with Play-doh, the smell that brings you back to the very first time that you played with it.

Hasbro Toy Company has decided to go ahead and trademark it. Here is how it was described in the trademark application, "sweet, slightly musky, vanilla-like fragrance, with slight overtones of cherry, and the natural smell of a salted, wheat-based dough."

The reason that they are doing it? Hasbro wants to protect their brand, including if someone wanted to make something that smelled like the iconic 'toy' which dates back to 1956.
