A small town in Connecticut has been struck by two earthquakes in 5 days, leaving residents very worried.

Plainfield, Connecticut was hit with a 3.3 magnitude earthquake Monday morning, with an aftershock happening minutes later.

The police were flooded with calls from worried residents that heard explosions and felt their homes shaking.

Mario Arriaga, Plainfield Police Captain said:

"Earthquakes of this magnitude are not common here and getting two within a week is starting to scare people," he added: "There is definitely a lot of unease because of having two so close together and people are worried. The one today was noticeably worse than last week and we're getting calls from a larger area of town and in towns beyond."

A plus side of the story is that there has been no injuries reported with either earthquake.

The first earthquake happened last Thursday, and was a 2.2 magnitude. Monday's quake marked the fifth since October.
