‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Casts Miles Teller as Tom Cruise’s New Protege
That was quick. Just last week it was reported that Paramount and Skydance were eyeing a trio of actors to potentially play a key role opposite Tom Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick: Miles Teller, Glen Powell and Nicholas Hoult were all in the running for the part of Goose’s son, and it looks like the powers that be have already selected Cruise’s co-pilot.
Guy Pearce Suggests Kevin Spacey Was ‘Handsy’ With Him on the ‘L.A. Confidential’ Set
Following numerous allegations of sexual misconduct and assault, things have been fairly quiet on the Kevin Spacey front — even though he (surprisingly) has a new movie hitting theaters this summer. ‘Hereditary’ Review: The Bar For the Best Horror Film of 2018 Has Been Set
In recent years, one horror film emerges early on as the best horror film of the year. In 2017 it was Jordan Peele’s exceptionally smart social thriller Get Out; in 2016 it was Robert Eggers’ period stunner The Witch; in 2018 that honor goes to Ari Aster’s Hereditary. Starring Toni Collette as a woman struggling to cope with the increasingly disturbing implications of her mother’s death, Aster’s ferocious directorial debut plumbs the darkest depths of mental illness to reveal the true meaning of psychological terror.
Reese Witherspoon Is Making Another ‘Legally Blonde’ Sequel
At the very least, it has to be better than ‘Red, White and Blonde,’ right? Right?!
Harvey Weinstein Will Surrender to the NYPD on Friday
At least one piece of positive news has emerged from this week’s trash fire of misogyny and sexual harassment allegations: Harvey Weinstein will reportedly be arrested by the New York Police Department on May 25. The former studio executive, who has been accused of sexual assault and harassment by over 80 women (as of this writing), is set to turn himself in tomorrow.
