Giants’ Josh Brown Suspended for Season Opener

NFL season is almost here!

The Giants kick off their season September 11 against the Dallas Cowboys, but will have to do so without the services of kicker Josh Brown.

According to the New York Daily News, Brown has been suspended one game for violating the NFL's personal conduct code. The actual violation is unspecified.

Josh Brown said in a statement released by the Giants:

While I do not agree with the suspension, I will accept it. I have exhausted the appeals process and have no other options along those lines. I will continue to work hard for this team, and I have tremendous confidence in my teammates and in my ability to move on and contribute to the team.

Brown is still eligible to practice with the team and participate in pre-season play. He'll be allowed back for regular season play September 18 when the Giants have their home opener against the New Orleans Saints.

Brown was a very important part of the Giants in 2015, as he lead the league in field goal percentage. According to Todays Pigskin, Brown missed only one extra point in 2015, finishing with a career high 134 points.
