We asked Mitch from Half Time what defines a "brown ale" and his answer was pretty simple: it's brown.  Our Beer of the Week is Davidson Brothers' Brown Ale from Davidson Brothers Brewing Company in Glens Falls. Brown ales are generally more malty than bitter because of the amount of malt that gives the style it's signature brown color.

Davidson Brothers' Brown Ale is on the sweet side.  It's based on a traditional English Brown Ale so it's got a mild body and just a small amount of hops bitterness.  Here's a look at our official tasting:

And, of course, you can get your WPDH growler filled all week with Davidson Brothers' Brown Ale for half price at Half Time on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie. Cheers!
