My Lost Treasure: The Kinks

More animal songs.  That's the theme we're working on right now on My Lost Treasure.  How about a few days of monkey and ape songs?  We'll kick it off with The Kinks.

The first time I saw The Kinks in concert was in the early 80s in New Haven, Connecticut.  I remember thinking how awesome it was because they seemed to play hundreds of songs.  I'm sure it wasn't hundreds, but with such short songs it felt like it.  And I knew every song.  Then they played The Chance in Poughkeepsie.  And Ray and Dave Davies came to the radio station.  Separately, since they don't really get along that well.  I smoked a cigarette with Ray Davies by the front door of the station.  I have to say, it was pretty awesome.

I don't smoke cigarettes anymore, but I still love The Kinks.  And it was an honor to meet them.  So, here is a Kinks song that fits our theme.  Have a great weekend.
