I was lucky enough to meet John Mellencamp back in 1983.  He was in Poughkeepsie playing at the Civic Center.  I was doing middays on WPDH.  We got to go back stage and hang with him, and he was such a nice guy.  Happy to take a picture with you, grateful that we were playing his music.  The show was amazing.

Through the years, I've watched John Mellencamp make music for and about everyday America, help others through countless Farm Aids, and evolve into a great Americana artist.  I loved him then, and I love him now.

I'm so happy there's a John Mellencamp song that fits our April Showers theme. And it's a good one.  Have a great weekend, we'll be wrapping up the rain songs on Sunday.
