If you're planning on drinking some beers during your train ride down to the St. Patrick's Day parade, think again.

Once again, Metro North has announced that there will be a booze ban on all trains for St. Patrick's Day. Drinking will also be forbidden on all platforms and stations on Tuesday. According to the Journal News violators will not only get their drinks taken away by police, but they could also be ejected from the train or even arrested. Additionally, fines for drinking on Metro North on St. Patrick's day can go as high as $50.

The good news is that Metro North will be scheduling extra trains to and from Manhattan on Tuesday. There will be six more trains heading down to the city in the morning and additional trains back in the afternoon.

Because of the anticipated crowds, conductors in Poughkeepsie, New Hamburg and Beacon will station themselves outside of the cars to collect tickets before passengers board. They suggest buying round-trip tickets in advance to avoid the long lines.

Drinking bans on Metro North are nothing new. In December, drinking was banned before Christmas due to the drunken pub-crawl known as Santacon.
