A memorial service for former WPDH morning show co-host John Steffanci will be held on Saturday, April 2.

Pam Steffanci Wood, John's sister, tells the Hudson Valley Post that the memorial will take place at the Libby Funeral Home in Beacon from 1 to 3pm with services scheduled for 2pm.

John Steffanci co-hosted the morning shift at WPDH with the late Stew Schantz from 1985 thru 1988 and also hosted the WEOK call-in and interview program Talkback. John also originated the annual WPDH Roof-A-Thons which raised money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, an achievement for which he was particularly proud, as well as such morning show staples as The Beemertons and the WPDH Wake-Up Calls.  He graduated Beacon City Schools in 1981 and graduated SUNY New Paltz in 1985.  Later, he was an advertising executive in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his longtime partner Sam, his sister Pam Steffanci Wood of Cornwall, his nieces Jenna and Jessica Wood and his parents, John and Elaine Steffanci as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends and his beloved dog Ollie.

The Libby Funeral Home is located at 55 Teller Avenue in Beacon.  Contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
