Harry Potter fans have been making comparisons between Marist's impressive dining hall and Hogwarts Great Hall. Well, now the college is officially making the transformation.

For one day only, the Marist dining hall will become Hogwarts Great Hall during a special event. On Wednesday, February 3 the dining services at Marist will supply students with Harry Potter themed food, decor and music. Diners will be sorted into houses while they refresh themselves with butter beer and other food items inspired by the popular book and film series. The bakery department will even be handing out "Ollivander's wands."

The impressive dining hall at Marist has received rave reviews from students and even landed the college on a list of the best cafeterias in the nation. This special event, however, takes things to a whole new level. The first 100 students who arrive in costume will even receive prizes, so if dining below those giant chandeliers and wooden arches isn't enough to transport you to Hogwarts, looking across the table and seeing those round iconic glasses certainly will.

Marist Dining Services even produced a "trailer" to get the students excited about the special event:

This event sure seems like a lot of fun, but this Marist alum can't help but feel cheated thinking about his own dining experience 20 years ago. The only magic we ever received was when an extra chicken nugget somehow found its way onto our plate. How times have changed.
