UPDATE, 2:25PM: Zula has died and been buried, according to Lost Pets of the Hudson Valley.

There have been some leads, but a missing zebra named Zula remains lost somewhere in the Hudson Valley. Her owner shared some more information with us about the search.

Richard Myer is very thankful for the attention that has surrounded the search for his 5-month-old zebra, Zula. The animal, which was a rescue, went missing on Thursday afternoon while Myer was feeding her.

Since then some leads have come in, including one this weekend from Newtown, CT. A woman contacted Myer with photos of a zebra that she believed may be his. Upon further investigation, it was just a horse in a trailer that happened to be wearing a zebra blanket.

Temperatures dipped down to the 30s last night, but Myer says that should have very little affect on the zebra. The animal is fully acclimated to the temperatures in New York and where he lives there is an abundance of water and food sources for the zebra.

The animal's owner told us more about the reward being offered and what someone can do to help if they happen to stumble across Zula.

A reward of $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the zebra's return. If you happen to see her, please call Richard Myer at (518) 925-2751 or contact the local authorities.
