Sam Adams is releasing a brand new beer that you can drink for the very first time at Patty on the River on March 14.

Bob Karcher from The Boston Beer Company brought us a sample of the new Sam Stout from Samuel Adams. This exclusive beer is only available in a few test markets right now, but we were lucky enough to give it a try this morning.

This American Craft Nitro-Stout has a dark, black appearance with a creamy white head. The smell has some rich coffee and chocolate notes, with more aroma than most of the other other popular Irish stouts you're most likely familiar with.

As for the taste, Sam Stout is a very smooth and light-bodied beer with some great rich coffee, chocolate and sweet malt flavors. At 4.5% abv it's also very sessionable and goes down quite easily.

Sam Adams has already made a name for itself as an American beer, winning German awards for brewing the best German-style beers, with Sam Stout they're bound to give those veteran Irish brewers a run for their money as well.

If you'd like to try Sam Stout for yourself, make sure to be at Paddy on the River this Saturday at the Beacon Waterfront on March 14 from 1-5.  Bob will be on hand to pour pints of Sam Stout and answer your questions about this great new offering from Sam Adams.
