I'm not judging but if you desperately need to participate in something called "Sober January" then maybe you should just be sober every month.

My social media pages are flooded with people participating in something called "Sober January" or "Dry January."

If you were like me and had no clue what that was it's just like it sounds. It's the act of not partaking in the consumption of alcohol for the first month of the year. Supposedly, a lot of people participate in this.

According to The Week, the reason behind it is pretty simple. It's a way to come off the hangover from the holidays. Some people start partying as early as November. The first is a good time to start detoxing.

My thought it if you need a month of detoxing, why not try a whole year? Maybe you'll like it.
