With the amount of hospital space quickly running amid the COVID-19 crisis, some help could be on the way. LoHud is reporting that construction could begin this week to convert the Westchester County Center into a temporary hospital.

Governor Andrew Cuomo and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers visited the center Saturday. Westchester County Executive George Latimer said:

We always figured the County Center would be an ideal place for this. I expect that what they're doing now is planning out how the place is going to be configured. If they start construction sometime this week, that's fine with us, we'll  accommodate their schedule.

And with medical personal also on the short supply, Latimer called on retired nurses, physicians assistants, doctors and other medical professionals to help.
