Happy Birthday today (Sept. 21) to Don Felder. The former lead guitarist for The Eagles is 70. He played with The Eagles from 1974-2001.

The classic Eagles lineup featured Don Felderm Glenn Frey, and Joe Walsh on guitars, Don Henley on vocals and drums, along with Randy Meisner on bass. Felder performed with The Eagles at the band's 1998 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in NYC where they performed the songs "Take it Easy" and "Hotel California" together. He was fired from The Eagles in 2001. A tell-all book entitled Heaven and Hell: My Life in the Eagles (1974-2001) was released by Felder in 2006. Felder currently has his own band and toured as direct support for REO Speedwagon and Styx this summer. Cheers to guitarist Don Felder on his 70th birthday today!

*Fun Fact: Don Felder taught Tom Petty how to play guitar.
