If you thought the Hudson Valley was cold this week, you're absolutely correct.

According to Patch, parts of the Hudson Valley, and New York will actually be colder than Russia and Alaska this week. Now that's a cold front. Temperatures are expecting to drop by 20 degrees in four hours across the area. Temperatures will drop to about 0 degrees by midnight on Wednesday night/Thursday morning.

The main factor that will make it bitter cold is the wind chill. Currently, wind chill advisories are in effect for Dutchess and Ulster County from 5 p.m. Wednesday to 1 p.m. Thursday, according to Patch. Wind chill advisories are in effect for Orange, Putnam, Rockland, and Westchester County from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday.

The wind chill is expected to bring on frostbite and hypothermia for people outside that are not properly clothed, according to patch. Expect wind gusts of 30 to 50 mph.
