An accident on the New York State Thruway has claimed two lives and left one person involved in the crash in critical condition.

Sadly, the crash claimed the life of 60-year old David Moyal, of Kingston, according to the police.

The construction vehicle that was struck was one of several in place to divert traffic while a crew installed construction signage.

Police say that the suspect fled the scene on foot following the crash but was located by troopers a short distance away.

This case remains under active investigation and additional updates will be provided when appropriate.

An eyewitness report aided responding State Troopers in quickly locating and apprehending the suspect.

The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office has announced that a 25-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle accident in Poughquag, NY.
