With only a few months left of the school year for most college students, as hard as that is to believe, the time to look for summer internships is now. Whether you are studying, or are interested in, engineering, law, science, community outreach, social media, planning, or other fields of study, there are summer opportunities to be had through the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation's annual internship program.
Students who have completed at least two years of college are encouraged to apply for a wide variety of unpaid internships working alongside some of the NYSDEC engineers and scientists, as well as other professionals working at the agency. Each internship will last six weeks.
The hope is that through these internships, students not only gain experience but also develop a passion for working to manage natural resources as well as care for the environment.
Applications need to be completed and submitted by April 20, 2017. Many of these internships will be based out of the Albany offices and each have specific requirements that must be meet in order to be eligible for the internship. Click here for more information.
