We lost Stevie Ray Vaughan on Aug. 27, 1990 in a helicopter crash at the age of 35. He had just performed a concert with Eric Clapton at Alpine Valley Music Theater in East Troy, Wisconsin. In his short life, Stevie Ray Vaughan was widely considered one of the most influential guitarists in the history of blues music and was important to the blues revival in the 1980′s. Rolling Stone magazine ranked him the 12th greatest guitarist of all time.

Stevie Ray Vaughan was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.
