Roy Orbison is set to become the next rock star to return to the road from beyond the grave through the modern magic of the hologram tour — and now fans can get their first look at the late star's newest incarnation.

Titled Roy Orbison in Dreams: The Hologram U.K. Tour, the upcoming dates are scheduled to begin in early April and run through the end of the month, and will all feature an Orbison hologram "performing" his biggest hits while backed by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra — an event the promoter promises will deliver a "transformative live entertainment concert experience."

"My dad was one of the first people to combine rock 'n' roll with orchestral sound," enthuses Orbison Music president Alex Orbison. "So to see the full meal deal of having the big orchestra with my dad is really a dream set up."

"I’ve been working with artists and live shows since the '60s and it’s immensely exciting to see Roy back on the stage in such a modern and creative way," adds promoter Danny Betesh. "His music never went away, and now fans can enjoy seeing the live show and hearing all those much loved songs."

The Orbison hologram tour follows the recent release of A Love So Beautiful: Roy Orbison With the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, which arrived in stores last fall and combines original Orbison vocals with new instrumental and orchestral backing. Tour tickets are on sale now.
