Putnam County Police say a woman threw coffee at a man’s head, punched, and hit him with a flashlight.

On Sunday around 11:15 a.m., Putnam County Police responded to a 911 report of a dispute in progress at 374 Bullet Hole Road in the Town of Patterson.

According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department upon arrival deputies found a man who was bleeding profusely.

Police say an investigation revealed that 36-year-old, Erin J. Spillane, of Brooklyn allegedly threw a cup of coffee at the man which hit the man in the forehead. Spillane also allegedly punched the man and used a flashlight to strike him.

Spillane was charged with 2nd-degree assault, a felony. She was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment.

The unnamed male victim was transported via Patterson Fire Department Ambulance to Putnam Hospital Center for emergency medical treatment.

If found guilty of the felony charge, Spillane could face up to 7 years in prison and a fine up to $5,000.00.
