It seems like the Hudson Valley has been getting a lot of love from the New York City press lately. I'd like to kindly ask them to stop, as we don't need to let the whole world know how good we have it here.

The New York Times has placed the spotlight on yet another Hudson Valley town, Peekskill. Which hopefully will lead to additional tourism and recognition of the downtown artistic scene. But at the same time, we don't want all of New York City invading our community. Nothing personal NYC, but it's a little more laid back up here.

The article does highlight some of the advantages that families have received by moving just up the Hudson Line. Property values being one of the main draws, you can get a lot more bang for your buck in the Hudson Valley. The Times goes on about the history, a look at the real estate market and even the schools.

A quick scan of YouTube led to the discovery of The Peekskill Channel which I must say served the purposes of my article quite nicely. Here's a look at some of the cool classic houses of Peekskill, New York.
