Looks like he was heading to the right place.

A 52 year-old man was on his way to the Livingston County jail to pick up a family member who was reportedly serving weekends at the jail. Sounds like the guy was just trying to help a family member, right?

Well, there was one problem.

The Steuben County man arrived at the wrong time. And by wrong time, we mean twelve hours ealry. The Democrat and Chronicle says the family member was supposed to be released by 6 a.m. Monday, not 6 p.m. Sunday.

Oh yeah, there was another problem. The man driving to the jail was allegedly intoxicated. Police say his blood alcohol level was more than four times the legal limit.

Guess that explains the confusion over showing up at the right time.

The man has been charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated. On top of that, to add insult to injury, he also received a parking ticket.

No word if he'll be sharing a cell with his family member.
