The new Golden Corral location in Poughkeepsie closed over the weekend leaving hungry customers wondering why.

According to owner Sher Brooklyn, the snow didn't play a role in the closure. The soft opening phase is now complete and they will have their official grand opening this Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 11AM.

Ms. Brooklyn explained that during a typical Golden Corral opening operation, representatives from corporate headquarters come in and help operate the restaurant for the first 10-14 days. The kinks are worked out, at which point local management takes over.

There have been reports online that the restaurant has been running out of food during their soft opening phase. This has been attributed to a new in demand restaurant figuring it all out.

Existing staff will be under going additional training while closed.

The all you can eat buffet style restaurants can be found in 41 states nationwide. The North Carolina-based business currently has over 500 locations.
