It was another great year at the New York State Sheep and Wool Festival at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, New York.

The festival welcomes thousands every fall for a weekend filled with vendors, sheep shows, equipment auctions, workshops and so much more.

Content Creators Go Viral For NY State Sheep and Wool Festival Shopping Spree

After all was said and done at the NY State Sheep and Wool Festival, fans started sharing their finds on social media. Including a group on a TikTok account called Snake + Skein.

In the video we see each of the 4 Sheep and Woolf visitors predict what they will spend and then how much they actually ended up spending. The predictions were modest "no more than $300" said one.

The owner of Snake + Skein, Mary, went ahead and answered some of the most frequently asked questions after the above video went viral.

Viewers in the comment section of the original video wanted to know what Rhinebeck is, as that's what the group referred to the festival as. Mary let them know "Rhinebeck” is the town that hosts the NY Sheep and Wool Festival each year and it’s also shorthand among fiber folk when referring to the festival."

Mary also adds that " Nice fiber for serious knitters and crocheters is expensive but also durable and long lasting for garments. It also supports farmers, small mills, artist dyers, and small businesses to buy this kind of yarn!"

And what everyone wanted to know. How did they have that kind of money to spend in a day?! Mary writes "We all saved up to shop— this is a once a year special event!"

The Dutchess County Fair Grounds wrote on social media "Thank you for joining us at the NYS Sheep and Wool Festival this weekend! It was a huge success and we hope you had as much fun as we did."
