While driving safely on New York roadways is of the utmost importance, it's always nice to see a funny sign with a humorous saying.

Numerous Highway Signs Pop Up in New York State

Over the holiday season last year, while driving on 9D in that weird section of Dutchess County that could be Wappingers, Fishkill or Beacon depending on who you ask, I looked up and saw a sign that made me giggle.

It read "Drive Drunk and YULE be sorry." I laughed to myself in the car, agreed with the sentiment and moved on with my day.

Trick-or-Treat! Spook-Tacular Return to NY Highways For Halloween

We're not sure how this slipped through the cracks after the ban, but it looks like the silly signs are back in New York.

The New York State DOT wrote on social media "Hey New York! Have you spotted any of our spook-tacular Halloween safety messages around the state?" and shared this video:

Other signs include "Hocus Pocus Drive With Focus" and "Ghost Your Phone. Don't Text and Drive."
