Summertime is the perfect time to kick back and relax with a good book.

If you want to take it a step further and get together with your friends to discuss what you just read, have you ever considered joining a book club?

Newburgh Brewing Company to Host Book Club

I understand that the idea of a book club can be quite daunting. You have to read the same book as everyone else, then have talking points, and probably bring snacks.

However, things will be less stressful at Newburgh Brewing Company.

The popular brewery announced the addition of Books & Brew starting on Thursdays in July.

Guests are invited to "meetup for a low-commitment, no homework, bring your own book… club!" The first meeting on Thursday, July 11th will cover books that everyone is reading this summer plus sharing recommendations as well as "options for future book discussions."

Books & Brew at Newburgh Brewing Company

Each session begins at 5:30 pm and will run on July 11th, July 25th, August 8th and August 22nd.

Registration is not needed, but it is encouraged just in case there are any changes in schedules. Visit NewburghLibrary.org or find more details from the QR Code in the photo below:

Newburgh, New York The New Home to the Hudson River Craft Beer Festival

While we're on the topic of beer and Newburgh...

The 2024 Hudson River Craft Beer Festival was announced last month with a brand-new location.

For the last several years the festival had been held at Beacon's River Front Park, however, the City of Beacon told HRCBF organizers that they no longer needed events like the beer festival to support tourism to Beacon.

This forced HRCBF to find a new location and thanks to a little help from Paul and Newburgh Brewing Company, the Hudson River Craft Beer Festival is now calling the People's River Front Park, right on the Newburgh Waterfront, home.

Don't miss the Hudson River Craft Beer Festival on Saturday, September 28th, 2024. Learn more at HRCBF.com.

LOOK! Abandoned Orange County Chopper HQs in Newburgh-TLC's 'American Chopper'

WARNING: Under no circumstances should you enter this property. By doing so you risk bodily harm and/or prosecution for trespassing on private property.
In 2003, a father-son business reality show hit the Discovery Channel. It was called American Chopper and it followed the custom motorcycle-building business of the Teutul family out of Newburgh, NY. Paul Sr. owned the shop with sons Paul Jr. and Mikey working in the business. There was a slew of cast and characters. The center of the show wasn't just the amazing custom motorcycles built for celebrities and others, it was the volatile relationship between Sr. and Jr. The show ran for 12 seasons before the two could no longer get along. It ended up in lawsuits and the two not talking for ten-plus years. In the past few years, the business moved to Florida. This left the 61,000-square-foot headquarters for sale and abandoned. Take a look at what remains of Orange County Choppers.
