Have you seen the huge snake that recently snuck up on workers fixing a water main break in upstate New York?

Most of the jobs we all have can have some danger. Depending on what you do for a living many of us have work fears that scare us while we do what we do for money. I don't think the crew that was recently replacing a water main in the Albany, New York area ever thought they would encounter one of the world's biggest fears up close and personal while they worked to fix a break.

Massive Snake Sneaks Up on Crew

Late last week a crew from Albany Water was out attempting to fix the 48-inch transmission main at Tivoli Preserve when they came across something that I think would scare the majority of people reading this. Please take a look at the picture they shared on Facebook...

Yes, that is a 14-foot-long Boa Constrictor!! Could you imagine something like that sneaking up on you while you were at work? Me either...LOL! That's exactly what happened to the water crew as the massive snake reportedly came out from the woods and slithered its way to the work site according to Albany Water's Facebook page. The crew immediately called the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to report the snake and soon after a DEC crew responded to capture and remove the snake.

Neither the DEC nor Albany Water said where they think the snake came from but because Boa Constrictors are NOT native to New York leading many to say the snake was most likely a pet at one time or another. Snakes like the one pictured above are usually found in the wild in Central and South America, not in New York!

Hudson Valley New York Camping Resorts

The Hudson Valley is a camping destination for so many people including those of us who live locally. It is a great way to have a summer vacation every weekend close to home. Many places offer a seasonal rate for you to save money on your stay. You pull the trailer in for the summer and park it for the season which is usually May to October. The resorts we found offer family fun amenities and a season full of exciting activities.
