2024 Election Heats Up Ahead of First Presidential Debate
It's no secret the 2024 election is going to be electric. Both sides of the aisle are making their voices heard and encouraging others to get out and vote.
This summer proved that this election will be one for the books. President Biden dropped out of the race and former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt, all in a matter of a week.
Now, Vice President Harris and former President Trump will go toe-to-toe in their first-ever debate on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024 live in Philidelphia.
While there are serious issues that need to be that need to be addressed, one local bakery is taking a lighter approach to the election.
Kingston, New York Bakery Selling Election Cookies
Deising's Bakery in Kingston, New York is at it again. This time putting the Hudson Valley and cookie lovers in the hot seat with their 2024 election poll.
The Ulster County bakery is selling Trump-Vance and Harris-Waltz decorated cookies. Each cookie sold will equal one vote to whichever candidate you're voting for.
Deising's staff will count every vote until election day. Take a look:
This isn't the first time Deising's has turned their cookies into a poll. They did the same thing for the 2020 election with Trump and Biden on their cookies:

Each year Deising's Bakery goes on to clarify that this is all for fun and encourages their social media fans to be respectful in the comment section.
Deising's Bakery Goes Head to Head with TV Show Host
If you missed it, earlier this summer Deising's Bakery went viral after going head-to-head with a late-night TV host.
John Oliver, host of Last Week Tonight on HBO Max, stepped on some toes in Ulster County after purchasing all the furniture from the recently shut-down Red Lobster on Ulster Avenue.
The Deising family had left a note on the door of the Red Lobster location asking for several pieces of furniture and equipment. Oliver used the furniture during a bit on his show about how anyone could run a Red Lobster after the filed for Chapter 11.

Thankfully, the beef was squashed rather quickly after Oliver asked for Deising's to make him a Bear cake. The cakes went viral and the money from the cakes went to a great cause, The People's Place which is a food pantry in Kingston, NY.
