Cozy Cardio and Other Healthy Tips for a Healthy 2025
If going to gym isn't your thing, but you still want to be in your "healthy era" New York-Presbyterian spoke to some of their medical professionals right before the new year for their suggestions.
Cardiologist Dr. Jessica Hennessey, at-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, recommends the new trend of "cozy cardio." Dr. Hennessy writes “These are low-impact exercises that raise your heart rate in a comfortable setting like your home.”
She adds that Cozy Cardio can be classified as "a Zone 2 type of exercise based on the heart rate zone." Zone 1 is being a place where you can easily hold a conversation while working out, to Zone 5 where you can't carry a conversation or talk at all.
The American Heart Association recommends 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity, or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity.
