If you shop at BJ's Wholesale Club, get ready for a big change next year.

Most families across the Hudson Valley and New York do everything they can each month to save as much money as possible on the things that we can't live without. The most common things most of us bargain shop for are gas and groceries. Admit it, you've driven a little out of your way to that one gas station that has their gas prices a few cents less than the stations you drive past all the time.

We've done it many times and aren't embarrassed about it! We've also done everything we can to try and save a few bucks when it comes to grocery shopping.

Grocery Shopping in New York

There are over 12,000 grocery stores in New York State alone (our favorites below) so we have a ton of choices when it comes to which store we buy our groceries. I'm not sure if everyone is aware of this or not but prices on many items at one store are oftentimes higher or lower at another, which is why many of us have a favorite, and most times it's because their prices are the lowest (New York's favorite stores below). At the end of the day it is all about savings, right?

Another way to save at the grocery store is to buy in bulk.

Bulk buying for some families has become extremely popular because according to numerous studies, the more you buy the more you save. The amount that families save varies but many say that shopping at stores like Sam's Club, Costco, and BJ's Wholesale Club are the best way to save. Most of the bulk stores require a membership to be allowed to shop at them and now it appears that one of the bigger stores is making a membership change in 2025.
