When one door closes, another one opens. And that's exactly happening with a popular Greek restaurant in Dutchess County.

Fan Favorite Greek Restaurant Closes Fishkill Location

If you're a foodie the Hudson Valley is the perfect destination to live or visit. There's all times of cuisine at every turn. One of the more popular restaurants in Dutchess County is Athena Gyro Greek Taverna.

Athena has an original location in LaGrange, but opened up a second location on Main Street in Fishkill in 2022.

In June 2024 they announced that the Main Street Fishkill location was up for sale. Unfortunately, it looks as though the sale has finally gone through.

We have really enjoyed being involved in this community for the past 2.5 years and have met wonderful people. We want to thank you for supporting us.

While the Fishkill doors have closed, a new Dutchess County location is ready to open theirs.

Athena 2 Go Sets Opening Date in Poughkeepsie, NY

In late September 2024, an Instagram account called Athena 2 Go was created. Their first post explained that they were part of the Athena Gyro family and they were "thrilled to announce our “soon to be”newest addition to the Athena Gyro Family."

“Athena 2 Go!!” would be a quick, easy and authentic Greek takeout option located in the heart of Eastdale Village in Poughkeepsie.

Things started to move quickly from there, as they posted these progress photos, followed by even bigger news:

Athena 2 Go in Eastdale Village in Poughkeepsie officially opens on Thursday, October 31st, 2024 and will be open from 10:30 am until 8:30 pm.
