Popular Hyde Park Theater Celebrates 75 Years
Great Movies, Lower Prices is a staple of the Hudson Valley, providing quality movie-going experiences! With Lyceum Cinemas in Red Hook, Roosevelt Cinemas in Hyde Park, and New Paltz Cinemas in... well... New Paltz, they show all the latest and greatest movies while providing quality concessions! I grew up going to Roosevelt Cinemas, and it's awesome to see them celebrate their diamond anniversary!
Roosevelt Cinemas Celebrates 75 Years in Business
The Roosevelt Cinemas on Route 9 in historic Hyde Park is located just minutes from some of the important and beautiful tourist stops in New York. Just across the street is the Franklin D. Roosevelt library and home. Also, just minutes away, is the Vanderbilt Mansion where you can walk the grounds and view the manicured landscaping and beautiful vistas.
The Roosevelt opened as a single screen theatre on July 29, 1949, and has expanded through the years to seven screens to bring the most variety of entertainment possible. The employees of the Roosevelt celebrated last week! A little bit of a belated birthday, but better late than never!
As some movie theater chains keep hiking up their prices to astronomical numbers, Roosevelt Cinemas and her sister theaters keep films afforadable:
- Adults - $9.50
- Seniors - $7.00
- Matinees til 6 - $7.00
- Tuesdays & Thursdays - $6.00
- Children - $6.00
- Luxury Recliners + $1.50 (They are so worth it!)
On Facebook, Roosevelt Cinemas said,
It's an honor to serve you, our loyal patrons, for the portion of that time that we have owned it. Our Roosevelt employees recently celebrated the 75th birthday of this historic theatre!
