With the holiday season around the corner, I know I'm not the only house in the Hudson Valley experiencing a large rise in Amazon deliveries. But what happens when you need to make a return?

While Amazon will occasionally refund your money without requiring an actual item return, oftentimes a physical trip is required to send the box back where it came from. Luckily, there are several different ways these returns can be made easier.

Return Your Amazon Order at Hudson Valley Kohl's Stores

For years, local Kohl's stores have accepted Amazon returns at many of their locations (including the one closest to me in Newburgh). While the store no longer rewards you with Kohl's Cash for using their location, it's still a convenient way to get your shopping done at the same time as your return.

You can find your closest Kohl's location here, but that's not the only place for your returns.

Return Your Amazon Order at Hudson Valley UPS Stores

Hudson Valley UPS Store locations also accept Amazon returns, and similar to Kohl's locations, you don't need postage. After electing to return your item on the Amazon app or website, a QR code will be sent for your chosen return center to scan. Find your preferred UPS Store location here.

Amazon Hub Lockers in the Hudson Valley

If you're looking to avoid a human interaction, using an Amazon Hub locker for your return might be the best choice. While the lockers are more generally used to pick up packages, qualifying returns can also be brought there. Amazon will send a locker code to use at your chosen location and viola, you're done.

Return Amazon Orders at Whole Foods

Not to kick a dead horse (an organic, grass-fed, Whole Foods horse), but we still don't have a Whole Foods in the Hudson Valley. If your shopping takes you outside the Hudson Valley, however, bring your package along and drop it off while you buy fair trade cacao nibs.

As with most things corporate, there's some fine print, for instance the size of your item may designate if it qualifies for a return at each location.
