Progressive metal band Fates Warning out of Hartford, Connecticut play The Chance in Poughkeepsie this Sunday night (Oct. 11) at 6:30pm. The band formed in 1982 and helped spearhead the progressive metal movement of the early 80's along with bands like Queensryche and Dream Theater.

The original Fates Warning lineup featured singer John Arch, guitarists Jim Matheos and Victor Arduini, bassist Joe DiBiase, and drummer Steve Zimmerman. The band has had numerous lineup changes over the years with Matheos and DiBiase being the only original members of the band. Matheos is the sole, original member in the current lineup. Fates Warning has released eleven studio albums, along with live albums and a compilation album. The band's last release was 2013's Darkness in a Different Light. The band last played The Chance on Nov. 21, 2013 in support of the album.
