To coincide with our Basha Kill Exhibition, the Wurtsboro Art Alliance will host a special event on June 29 at 5 p.m. WAA member, avid wildlife photographer and eagle expert Gene Weinstein will present his collection of photographs of the eagle's taken in and around Sullivan County.
For 22 years, from 1988 through 2010, Weinstein assisted Peter Nye, Chief of the Endangered Species Unit of the New York Department of Environmental Conservation, in the effort to restore the bald eagle to New York State.
During the time Weinstein worked as a volunteer with Nye as a bald eagle monitor for the DEC, Weinstein took thousands of photographs.
Gene will narrate and guide us through his impressive collection of eagle photograph and will be available for question after the presentation.
The event is free, and light refreshments will be served.
