Multiple Hudson Valley businesses were caught selling alcohol to minors during a county-wide operation.

The New York State Liquor Authority (SLA) reports that on Thursday, March 7, 2019, an underage sting was conducted in Orange County. The Washingtonville and Blooming Grove Police Departments worked with the SLA and underage agents to conduct an underage drinking sting at 16 businesses. 9 of the businesses sold alcohol to the minor.

According to the SLA, these are the businesses that sold alcohol to the minor:

  • Sunoco A-Plus Mini Mart
    32 E. Main Street, Washingtonville
  • Stop & Shop #524
    60 Brotherhood Plaza Dr., Washingtonville
  • CVS #5050
    30 Brotherhood Plaza Dr., Washingtonville
  • Sunoco
    1197 Rt. 208, Monroe
  • Super Discount Wine & Liquor
    1200 Rt. 208, Monroe
  • C & G Deli Country Store
    809 Rt. 208, Monroe
  • Cookoo’s Nest
    809 Rt. 208, Monroe
  • Hook & Ladder Saloon
    5 E. Main Street, Washingtonville

The SLA reports these businesses did not sell alcohol to the minor:

  • Stewart’s Shops
    26 E. Main Street, Washingtonville
  • Newport Beverage
    7 Depot Street, Washingtonville
  • Brother Brunos
    40 Brotherhood Plaza Dr., Washingtonville
  • F & J Pizzeria
    7 Goshen Ave, Washingtonville
  • Hennessy Wine & Liquor
    6 Depot Street, Washingtonville
  • 208 Grill
    590 Rt. 208, S. Blooming Grove
  • Loughran’s Irish Pub
    Rt. 94, Salisbury Mills

Those charged by the SLA with underage sales could face penalties of up to $10,000 per violation, with fines starting from $2,500 for a first-time offense. Repeat offenders could have their license suspended or revoked.
