Two Hudson Valley men will spend at least 20 years in jail for killing a 63-year-old Hudson Valley man during a botched robbery.

On Thursday in Orange County Court, Dejoire Fox, 21, of Newburgh was sentenced to 20 years in prison in connection of the shooting death of a man during the course of an attempted robbery on June 21, 2017, in the City of Newburgh.

When Fox pleaded guilty, he admitted he entered an apartment on Chambers Street in the City of Newburgh with the intention of robbing 63-year-old Raul Diaz-Martinez. He also confessed he was armed with a gun and shot Diaz-Martinez who later died of a gunshot wound.

On Wednesday, the ringleader of the botched robbery, Omarrio Morrison, 26, of Newburgh was sentenced to over 27 years in prison in connection with the killing.

Morrison was found guilty in June of murder, attempted robbery, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of tampering with physical evidence.

During Morrison's trial, prosecutors argued Morrison planned to rob Diaz-Martinez and recruited Fox and a 17-year-old from Newburgh to commit the actual robbery, supplying both with guns.
