In two separate arrests, two men were charged after they were pulled over in Ulster County with allegedly meth in their cars.

On Sunday around 6:45 p.m., deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office stopped a car for an alleged traffic violation on Old Route 32 in the Town of Saugerties.

An investigation determined that the driver, 34-year-old Matthew S. Doyle of Saugerties was driving with a suspended vehicle's registration.

As police continued their investigation, they allegedly found over a half-ounce of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Doyle was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and a misdemeanor for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration.

A few days earlier, a New York State trooper pulled over a car driven by 37-year-old Michael A. Notarnicola of Catskill.

The trooper allegedly found approximately 2.6 grams of a white and clear crystaline substance believed to be methamphetamine. Notarnicola was also found to be in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia used to smoke methamphetamine, police say.

Notarnicola was charged for criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and a violation for possession of marijuana.

Both were remanded to Ulster County Jail. Notarnicola on no bail. Doyle in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 secured bond.
