A viral hit on the internet has helped three New York City boys land a million dollar record deal with Sony. A video of a heavy metal group, known as Unlocking the Truth, performing at Times Square, for street change, lead the trio to signing a 2 record, $1.8 million dollar deal with Sony Records (which includes 16 to 17 percent royalty fees which is above the industry average). 13 year old guitarist Malcolm Brickhouse of Flatbush, 12 year old drummer Jarad Dawkins of Crown Heights, and 13 year old bassist Alec Atkins of Bedford-Stuyvesant make up the band, who also recently performed at Coachella are actually managed by Welcome Back Kotter co-creator, Alan Sacks who has quite a history of managing bands.  Best of luck to these guys!
