Tuesday, March 7 is free pancake day. Here's how to get a free stack in the Hudson Valley.

IHOP has been celebrating National Pancake Day every year by giving away free short stacks of pancakes to all of their customers. On March 7 all you need to do is go to your local IHOP and get your pancakes.

Customers are asked to make a donation of their choosing to either the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, Shriners Hospitals for Children or the the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

The IHOP on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie will start handing out pancakes at 7am and will be open until 10pm. The IHOP on Route 17K in Newburgh has similar hours, as well as other IHOP locations on 17M in Middletown and Larkin Drive in Monroe.

Since National Pancake Day began at IHOP in 2006 the breakfast chain has raised over $25 million for children's charities. This year's goal is to raise $3.5 million in donations during the free pancake event.
