The Culinary Institute of America will be opening the all-new Apple Pie Bakery Cafe this week, but we've got your first look right now.

The Apple Pie Bakery Cafe is the school's most casual dining spot. No reservations are necessary and guests of the campus can sample soups, sandwiches, desserts and even beer brewed on campus. After five months of extensive renovations, the cafe is finally ready to open to the public.

Those who have been to the old Apple Pie Bakery may remember long lines of people waiting to either dine inside or grab food to go. Those lines have now been separated, allowing dine-in customers to be seated more quickly and take out customers to grab what they want and go. Table service has also been added so diners can avoid waiting in line behind customers trying to choose a dessert from the incredible menu of decadent pastries.

Chef Waldy Malouf, the senior director of food and beverage operations for the CIA, walked us through some of the other changes to the cafe, including an entirely new interior design.

The Apple Pie Bakery Cafe is open starting on Tuesday. Take-out is available from 7:30am to 6pm Monday through Friday and dine-in service is open weekdays from 11am to 5pm. For more details and closing dates, be sure to check the website first.
