Yoenis Cespedes is now part of the one hundred million dollar club.

The 31 year-old New York Mets outfielder signed a huge four-year deal, worth an Earth-shattering $110 million dollars.

That's the highest deal ever for a Met, as well as the highest for any outfielder in Major League history.

Cespedes had initially opted out of his old deal, fueling speculation that he'd be leaving the Mets this offseason. Some thought he'd end up ,anding with the Washington Nationals or maybe San Francisco.

A lot of people will understandably think paying that sort of money to any athlete is absurd. However, Cespedes was a huge part of the Mets' 2015 World Series run after joining the team mid-season. Injuries plagued him in 2016, but he was still able to hit 31 home runs and 86 RBIs in 132 games.

When Cespedes was out of the lineup, the Mets clearly suffered.

Should be interesting to see how he shows up to Mets training camp in February. Could he riding another sixty-eight thousand dollar motorcycle?
