After having the Major's best record in Spring Training, the Yankees entered the 2017 season with high hopes.

Hopefully, for Yankees fans, Sunday's season opener in Tamp Bay isn't an indication of things to come.

The NY Post says that the Yankees lost to Tampa 7-3 in a pretty dismal performance all around from the Bronx Bombers.

Yankees' starter Masahiro Tanaka, who pitched well in Spring Training, gave up seven runs, eight hits and two walks in only two and half innings. New addition, Matt Holliday went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts, while Gary Sanchez, Greg Bird and Aaron Judge went a combined 1-for-13.

Believe it or not, this marks six straight season openers the Yankees have now lost.

The Yanks will play again Tuesday as they face Tampa again at Tropicana Field at 7:10 p.m. CC Sabathia will get the start on the mound. Their home opener is Monday, April 10, as they'll once again face the Rays.
