WPDH Soundcheck: Cutting Alot Of Birthday Cake

Happy Birthday this weekend to Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits and Joe Jackson.  We'll have them on soundcheck this week along with Don Henley this Sunday night at 10pm on 101.5 WPDH and the WPDH app.

Mark Freuder Knopfler was born on August 12th 1949 which makes him 69 years old.  He co-founded Dire Straits with his younger brother David back in 1977.  This past year the band was inducted into the "Rock & Roll Hall of Fame" with ceremonies taking place in Cleveland.  He is ranked according to Rolling Stone Magazine at number 27 of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time.

Joe Jackson (real name David Ian Jackson) was born August 11th, 1954 in England.  Jackson began playing in bars at age 16 and won a scholarship to study musical composition at London's famous Royal Academy of Music.
