The tradition continues as WPDH presents "Alice's Restaurant Masacree" the 1967 classic from Arlo Guthrie with two settings.  The first one is at 9am and the second setting will be at 12noon.  Listen online at WPDH.com.

This is the 50th anniversary of the song, released in October of 1967 and is based on a true story that happened on Thanksgiving Day in 1965.  He along with friend Richard Robbins of Poughkeepsie, drove to Stockbridge, MA to have Thanksgiving dinner with Alice and Ray Brock who lived in a church.  Next morning the two decided to clean up the garbage in the church and took it in their VW bus to the dump but it was closed.  They took it to a side road instead and dumped it there.  Unfortunately later on that day a phone call from the local police department and, well, you'll have to listen to the rest of Arlo's story on Thanksgiving day.
